No retirement for a lifetime! Employment of 80 elders to aim for lifelong careers!
As of April 1st, “Elder SHAIN” from 65 years old will be joining us
A “Ceremony for Joining the Company from 65” will be held in late March (subject to change)

TOKYO, January 22th, 2018 - Pasona Group Inc. will provide employment from Monday, April 1st to those over the mandatory retirement age with our “Elder SHAIN” system, or, in English, Elder Employee system, to hire elderly human resources who wish to challenge themselves in a new career change and aim to have a lifelong career. The recruitment for 80 such individuals will start as of January 23th.
Furthermore, we will hold a “Ceremony for Joining the Company at 65” for individuals joining Pasona Group as an “Elder SHAIN” at Pasona Group’s Job Hub Square building (Otemachi, Tokyo) in late March (subject to change).

According to the National Institute of Population and Social Security Research’s prediction, the population of 15 to 64 years old will fall below 60 million by 2040, which is about 17.5 million lower than in 2015. Therefore, on one hand, for Japanese society to sustain its continuous growth, it is necessary to employ elderly human resources. There is also an increase of around 60% of individuals who wish to work even after passing the mandatory age of 65 years old, according to a questionnaire conducted by Pasona Group. Therefore, on the other hand, there is a demand for a system that allows such individuals to work for a lifetime.

Consequently, for elderly individuals who are motivated to work, Pasona Group will be establishing the “Elder SHAIN” System, which will be provided according to the elders’ lifestyle, whether it be full-time or for few days a week.

The system’s name, “SHAIN”, which means employee in Japanese, was decided in order to reflect, of course, working as an employee, but also has another meaning. “SHAIN” has the same pronunciation as the English word “SHINE” and, therefore, it also reflects each and every elder shining brightly in their lifelong careers.

This system will be divided in three groups, the “Regional Revitalization Crew”, the “Expert Crew”, and the “Venture Crew” (subject to change). Elders will be assigned to a crew according to their desired field of work.

Furthermore, in order to help elders, withholding an abundance of experiences, who will be employed at Pasona Group feel at ease and have a reassuring new career start when joining the company, we will be providing various welfare benefits such as pre-entry trainings, “Healthcare Support” in other to stay active while remaining healthy, and more. In addition, we will prepare a “Senior Life Support Desk” to provide advice on money and lifestyle such as complex pension-related procedures, tax-related affairs (tax return, property inheritance),  insurance subscription renewal, etc. Moreover, we will hold regular “Elder SHAIN Fellow Trainee Meet-Up” to promote the bond between the individuals who joined the company during the same period.

Through this system, Pasona Group will support elderly human resources aiming for a lifetime career to access their “second work life” by adapting to each of their lifestyles while continuing to aim for a society in which neither an individual’s age nor the legal retirement age would be a issue to continue to have an active professional life.
