The start of “Kurashinity”, a housekeeping service in Kanagawa prefecture that assists working women
Business alliance between Pasona and Magsaysay Global Services
Professional housekeeping specialists to work in Japan after about two months of training

TOKYO, July 27, 2016- In an initiative to further advance women’s social progress, Pasona will officially launch Kurashinity in July 27, 2016, inviting professional housekeepers from the Philippines to Japan’s own Kanagawa prefecture (designated as a “national strategic special zone” by the Japanese government).

It first took form last July, when arrangements were made by the Council on National Strategic Special Zones to provide relief for working women by cutting down on their domestic workloads.  Foreign personnel looking for housekeeping work would be employed in Kanagawa prefecture and Osaka City, adopting the domestic duties that have typically fallen to women to manage in addition to their careers and other responsibilities.  These housekeeping agents will alleviate the domestic burdens of working women and allow them to be fully engaged in society.
In many other countries, housekeeping and babysitting services are in wide use in order to allow for that societal engagement.  Many Japanese expats working overseas utilize housekeeping and babysitting services in order to balance work life balance.

This effort to bring Kurashinity to Kanagawa stems from a business partnership between Pasona and the Philippine conglomerate, Magsaysay through its subsidiary, Magsaysay Global Services, Inc. In addition to housekeeping, Magsaysay also provides staffing and training services for such diverse fields as customer service, tourism, culinary arts, shipping, and goods distribution throughout Europe, Asia, and North America.  Their history spans for over sixty-five years.  In the housekeeping industry alone, through one of its training arms, Magsaysay Center for Hospitality and Culinary Arts, they have trained approximately 5,500 housekeeping specialists through a globally progressive curriculum.

In order to ensure their success, Kurashinity will provide Filipino locals with courses in Japanese language, culture, hospitality, and housework, over the course of approximately two months.  An additional month-long training program after their arrival will include living and housing support, orientation, and on-the-job training in actual residences, so that the participants can comfortably flourish in Japan.  And, should their expected length of stay come to an end, they will be provided with support finding work back in their home country.  In that sense, Pasona and Magsaysay will have created a workforce of housekeepers without borders.
