TOKYO, June 24, 2016 ― On June 30, the 2016 Pasona International Exchange Program will gather top university students from abroad to experience Japanese business firsthand.
Pasona established the program in 1988 as part of a CSR activity to contibute to society in a tangible way, by giving exemplary university students from abroad the opportunity to experience a Japanese company from the inside. To date, over 400 students have participated.
Among the approximate 600 applicants this year, 17 students from the USA, China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Indonesia, and Vietnam have been chosen to participate. Over the course of the two-month program, the interns will come to understand Japanese business culture, gain practical business skills, greatly improve their Japanese, and be set on the path to becoming globally-minded personnel. In addition to their everyday work activities, they will have the chance to take courses on Japanese business etiquette, experience modern and traditional Japanese culture, and attend fun events with their fellow program participants.
By helping to facilitate mutual understanding between foreign students and local businesses, Pasona hopes to deepen ties between Japan and the student’s home countries, and contribute to the further globalization of society.
